I cant play the Game

Hello i can't play the C&C Generals game i install everything but when i start the game its shows the game window and it shows a serious error and i cant play, my computer is Asus G73Jh latest gaming laptop windows 7, 8 gb ram, Ati mob radeon hd 5870 with 1 gb ram, can someone tell me what to do ????

I've heard that Generals has some trouble running in Windows 7. Try running it in XP compatibility mode, and make sure the game is patched to the latest version.
