Hey all, I'm trying to decide if I should build a Intel or AMD gaming machine.. The only motherboard I found that I like is the Asus P4C800-E, but I know the AMD's should have same thing, but I can't find the best mobo thats out there, so can anyone help me?

Thanks

yes, it would b wise going with AMD for a cpu. now if you were going with a A64 (socket 939) most people that ive come across prefer the MSI neo platinum 2. it uses the nforce 3 chipset, which IMO is the best.

heres a link to the neo

well, wouldn't a finer point be, go with the Athlon 64 line over a P4? Because an Athlon XP won't outperform a P4 in gaming. By all means, correct me if I'm wrong.

Athlon XP will still be on par with the P4 if not a little better in games.
I agree with jammydodger here. In general XP will give at least the same performance in games as the P4. The 64-bit chips are obvisuly a little better than both the XP and the P4 in games.
