Hello,

Suddenly my VX6000 phone demands an unlock code for access. I
never set a lock code for the phone. The phone really gets little
use and has not been dropped or in any way abused. Of course my
attempts at entering the phone are spurned, since no code exists.

I bought the phone at CC.

o Is there a fix I can do myself?

o Where should I take this - to Verizon or CC?

o Is this a problem with the 6000?

Thanks,
Paul

The default access code is the last 4 digits of your phone number.

I tried that and it didn't work. I went to Verizon, and he simply
dialed #228. Not only does that reset the PRL, it resets the
phone to defaults. Strange on two counts - the phone went into
Lock Mode by itself and the default no longer worked. At least I
have a workaround if it happens again.

You can also remove the battery, wait a few seconds, and put it back in.
That will reset the phone as well.

Pressing and holding the "#" key will lock that phone I believe.

A ha. That I did, in a misguided effort to switch to vibrating
mode ("*" ). I didn't notice a lock notification, but maybe I
missed it.

At least I now know the phone isn't at fault.
