My Abit KT7A raid has died (many blown caps). I need to get the info off the raid drives and I'm not about to buy a used Abit KT7A off ebay and suffer from bad caps again. Will some of the new MB's with raid be able to retrieve the data? Or will a PCI board such as Highpoint Rocket Raid 100 do the job?
Thanks

Replace all the capacitors at once and you'll never have that problem again.

I would like to upgrade at this point rather than fix an old board.
Thanks

As far as I understand these things (which admittedly, is not that far), you'll need a raid controller with the exact same chipset as the one on the KT7 board to stand any chance.

You can probably get a used KT7A-RAID off ebay for the same price you'd pay for a RAID card anyway, so you may as well do that, archive what data you need and then do your upgrade with a fresh install (which is generally recommended if you're upgrading a motherboard anyway)
