some of the dvds are not working in my laptop even though they are working on other systems the problem even though they are loading i cant see the files

I think that your DVD player is on the way out, a secondhand DVD player for a laptop is cheap. You could try a firmware update for your drive before scraping it and you can also try this Microsoft web site and click on the run now button.
