I've been looking at the MSI KN NEO2 (of course) but if I'm not mistaken the only SATA ports with working lock are located near the cpu socket just above the AGP slot which pretty much makes the board useless to me. Is that right.

How about the ABit AV8, or ASUS replacement. I will need excellent overclocking capabilities.

I also would like to know what to watch out for when buying a 3500+, are there any different models? I guess the later the manufacturing date the better, and stick to 130nm for now? Or not?

BTW I'm concerned with memory compatibility. I'll use 2x512mb corsair pc4000 (TWINX) will these be any limiting factor. I'm aiming at at least 10*250 for 2.5 ghz or 11*(what i can get) I know the cpu might not oc that high but will the memory give me any problems?

If you don't like MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum, then look for other nForce3 Ultra based mobos

I like it but the positioning of working (lock working) SATA connectors is rather important...
