Is there any way to enable a password protected simple file share in Win XP Pro?

I need other people to access a folder on my hard drive. They don´t have local accounts in my PC, and we don´t belong to any Network Domain.

The easiest way I imagine is file simple sharing, but I need the folder to be password protected...and don´t seem to find any options to enable password protection.

Regards

Create an account on your machine with the login/pass you want them to use. Turn off simple file sharing (if you have xp pro). Go to the share permissions and make it so only administrators, you, and that one user you created have permission to access that folder. Do the same under security. The users will be prompted for a login when trying to access that file and can enter the user/pass you created earlier.

Didn´t work...
I´m getting an "Access Denied" message.
No user/password requested.

Any other ideas?

Are the 2 machines in the same workgroup/domain? or are you going from workgroup to domain or domain to workgroup?

All the machines are logged on a Novell network, and share the same Windows workgroup. No domains at all.

Ick, novell... Sorry, brings back bad memories :)
It's been a while since I last delt with novell but I'd say that is probably working against you in this situation. The method I told you above "should" work in an ideal situation. I don't know enough about new novell and can't remember enough about old novell to know 100% if that is interfering or not. Hopefully there is a novell person out there that knows more :)
