Hi there freaks!
Has anyone been dealing with those two in the title both? Or any other i845 oc platform reccomandations? (by that I mean mainly with all features in bios and stable)
I will have a 1.6A P4 soon which runs stable on 150fsb without changing the proc voltage. So I think I will try to push the fsb as far as possible trying to keep pci clock at 33mhz and memory chips also near its specs..the same with agp if possible
I don't consider 865 and such mobos for now (money matter and I also wanted i845 "just because" -like BX some time ago )
Thanks for any advice

PS is there any trustworthy overclocking base on the net -don't know one ..and some mobos ranking maybe??

I have one of the 845PE Max boards and I had a 1.6A Northwood in it up until recently. I had that chip pushed up to 2.2 GHz.

Now I swapped that chip out with a 2.26 GHz. Northwood (MO Stepping) which easily does 3.2 GHz. with the FSB up at 189 MHz. so the board (and chipset) has a lot of potential. I tried 200 FSB, but it became unstable... I think the CPU is capable, but I think the 845PE has a tough time going that fast.

I had tried an Abit 845PE board but the Northbridge heatsink fell off (clip pulled through the board) so I returned it for the MSI board. Both overclocked well...
