make a bootable entire system restore disc

ok, so you have your entire system all loaded, with your drivers, windows xp, software... how do you burn a BOOTABLE DVD that will RESTORE your entire PC to this STATE in anything goes bad in the future?... example you know those restore discs HP, COMPAQ and like sony's and Dell's come with? well how do you make those...

what's the best way..... thanks.

thanks fellas, yeah i had this.... when i installed and ran, i couldn't figure out how to do a simple HD backup.... i seen tons of network options and all this other crap...

Im taking it this will create an IMAGE file and then i gotta burn the image? it will be bootable.................also, i downloaded POWERQUEST Drive Image 7... this looks like a nice a$$ program i think i might have to check it out for backing up and then i'll make a post back in here on how well it was.
