Am thinking of building this machine this weekend. Comments appreciated. Oh yeah, It will be primarily used for gaming/internet/minor office app's:

Sempron 3100
GIGABYTE "GA-K8NSNXP" nForce3 250 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Socket 754 CPU
(mobo designed for the 64 and when I upgrade to the 64,
will be 400 FSB)(I know someone who is using the
Sempron, and it's working well)
420w power supply
pc2700 2x 512
120GB Hard Drive (Maxtor)
DVD/CD RW combo
WinXP Home
V-Com System Suite 5

I would spend less on the mobo, more on the chip.
If you get the Asus K8N for $89 from newegg, you will have enough to get a 3200+.

Yepp, 2.2 GHz A64 3200+ is a much better choice than Sempron 3100+

Ditto! Don't waste a nickel on a S754 Sempron. They will have NO resale value at all.
