Serial ATA DVD Writers

I am interested in the new serial ata dvd writer from Plextor but I'm not sure if my motherboards supports it. I have the Asus K8V SE Deluxe and I'm using the Via raid for my hard drives, which leaves me with the onboard Promise raid controller. Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated.

HUGE UPDATE!!! Plextor just released a 16x SATA DVD-RW!!! i have been wanting one for some time, but i was unable to lower myself to a 12x burner. i went to the site to do some research to answer your question and and saw this. this website is the MB/chipset compatibility list for both drives
