Im goign to buy a new computer and i was thinking of getting a ABIT IC7-G mother baord and a Prescott 3.2ghz but im wondering if its worht going to 775 socket and using a PCI express graphics card
THe rest of my system will be
Pixelview Geforce 6800Ultra
1 GB of Twinex DDR PC4000
480w Thermaltake PSU
200GB Western Digital Cavier on SATA

If you think i should go to 775 socket P4 what motherboard would you suggest?
People have tried to convicne me to go to a AMD so if anyone could give me advice on a motherboard and chip costign around the same price.

Gigabyte KN8XP-9 with an A64 Winchester would be the best use of your money. Dual-BIOS, Dual-Power module, twin PCI-E slots for running dual graphics cards, and a 1000mhz buss. Any other high dollar expenditure right now makes absolutely NO sense. Especially a Prescott!

Abit IS7 - 3.0C @ 3.6ghz - Mushkin PC4000 (2 X 512) - Sapphire 9800Pro - TT 420 watt Pure Power
Samsung 120gb ATA-100 - Maxtor 40gb ATA - 100
Sony DRU-510A - Yellowtail Merlot

What you gonna use your computer for?
If I were you I would get:
-Althon64 3000+ (socket 939, winchester core)
-Socket 939 motherboard (post a question in the motherboards section asking for a good one)
-2x512MB PC3200 Crucial ballistix
