i have a k7s5a (ecs) motherboard and currently have 512 mb of pc2100 ram
i haveee attempted to add a 256mb stick and it wont recognise the thing
is it the ram or is there a trick (in bios knowing this st*ty board) to adding ram for this board?
the ram is exactly the same type as in just now so it either a faulty stick or more "quirks" of the cheapo board

I have a stick of RAM here that won't run with any other stick installed.

Yeah... but if it won't run by itself...

I suppose it may be something with that board, but I know I've got one of those boards running just fine with two sticks of mis-matched memory.

Seems like lately I've had some strange memory issues myself though on other boards... I had my Abit NF7 stop booting with two sticks of Corsair XMS PC3200. Pulled one out and it was fine. Put the other back in and it was back to normal!
