Hello.
I getting a new computer shortly with a ATI Radeon 9200SE.
I'd like to replace the card with a 9800PRO that I already own. Now my question is... Should I reinstall windows for this upgrade? I've heard that it is necessary before major hardware upgrades. However, the drivers come from the same package of drivers. Would the reinstalling make any difference?

ATI to ATI 'should' be fine, they use the same driver package, it should just be detected.

Try it

You never have to reinstall the os because of a video card change. It would be a waste of time and effort.

NEVER say never. True, with driver uninstallers, things have gotten better... but it can still cause problems.

However, since you're going from one Radeon series card to another Radeon series card, you should be fine even without uninstalling drivers. Radeons use a unified driver like nVidia does with their cards.
