I have ordered a new Intel mobo and proccessor. 915PBL and P4 3.4ghz . My question is this, should I sell the motherboard and get on that uses DDR instead of DDR2. I'm getting the mobo/proccessor combo for $200, but the Ram for the system is gonna cost me more than that if I keep the 915pbl and use ddr2. There are some board that use 915p chipset, but use DDR, are any of them good? and do you think it would be worth it?

Splendid
DDR2 will slow you down. I would definitely look at getting a 915 chipset, with standard DDR support. You will get a couple % better performance, for a lot less money.
Were it not an Intel board, you might be able to oc and see a gain, maybe even enough to warrant faster DDR2, but that board would still have to go.
If you can get out of the whole purchase, that would be the smart thing to do. Intel chips now put out a peak 115 watts (read as heat) while the comperable Amd chips put out only 50 watts. The Amds generally perform better, as well.
