Problem with duel in call of juarez bound in blood

Hello,
Chapter 3 duel mode with the sherrif, which ever way I move my mouse the hand does not move at all, I can't figure out what is going on?
The mouse has worked fine in all the previous levels but now with the duel mode it doesn't seem to work at all?
Where is the problem?

You have to wait for the bell and when it rings, you move the mouse down to get the gun and then quickly up and click the left button to shoot. If you move to soon, it doesn't work...
