I've got an Intel D845GVSR board and I'm trying to buy a processor that is supported. I'm trying to get some really cheap components for this system so I'm looking at a Celeron 1.8 ghz processor. My board revision isn't listed on Intel's site however. I'm really confused as to whether it will work or not.

Here's the site for the board: http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/sr/sr_proc.htm

It would help if you told us what your board revision really was.

However if I understand you correctly your board revision is not one of the following:

"The following board revisions (AA numbers) DO NOT support these processors:
C45439-301 or later
C45441-301 or later
C44953-300 or later.
"

Also note that there are two types of celeron 1.80 GHz. The 1.80A is supported on all revisions.

P.S. The Celerons really suck. You sure u can't afford a real P4 for that board?

Yeah, my board revision wasn't listed (it's C45431-104) and the only processor I've found is a 1.80, not a 1.80A

I'd probably put a P4 2.53 or 2.66 on that board.
