My girlfriend has an emachine and the MB, ecs L4S5MG, went out. I don't have the money at the moment to build her a complete system. I am thinkin of replacing the case and the MB with a Foxconn 845GV4MR-ES for $37.00 at newegg. Is there any reason her current components: CPU, memory, and HD won't work with the new MB. I'm not sure if any of it is proprietary to the eMachine.

Nothing in an eMachine is proprietary. eMachines uses a Micro ATX case with a standard-sized replacable back plate. While some boards have an internal joystick header used by most eMachines cases, the board you show has the joystick port on the back instead, so the only negative affect would be that you'll loose the use of the front joystick header, if present on your case.

Didn't emachines once use wacky PSUs like what Dell used to do?

No, they used standard SFX sized power supplies as found in many HP computers and most aftermarket compact Micro ATX cases. It's the most common small size, and the second most common size on the market (second only to the full-sized "PS/2" form factor).
