Looking for a rugged phone for outside use...

I'm looking for a phone to bring camping, mountain biking, climbing, etc. I
know Nextel has an iDEN phone that says it meets the military standards for
ruggedness. http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=366 . I don't care
for Nextel service, but I like the idea of such a durable phone. Has anyone
heard of any other phones for other carriers like this one (CMDA
preferably). I prefer Verizon, but am curious if anybody else caters to this
segment.
