okay, here is my question:

right now, I have two 512 sticks of kingmax pc3200.
Can a person have 2 512 sticks working in dual channel mode and then another...any size memory module in a non-matching DIMM? i might not have used the right names, but you'll probably understand what I mean.

Example: 2 512's dual channel, 1 gb stick in another dimm, one dimm open.

thanks

You need matched pair for dual channel mode, either 1 pair or 2 pairs. You can however have 2 different matched pairs, such as a pair of 512's and a pair of 256's.

If you are asking for your system, what Crash said is true. On nforce2 boards, it is possible to twin 2 256 sticks and use a stick of 512 to get 1 gig in dual channel.

How do you get dual channel on one stick of RAM?

And the sign says "You got to have a membership card to get inside" Huh
So I got me a pen and paper And I made up my own little sign</pre><p></font color=red>

um....are you sure about that...? It would make sense to have like 2 512's dual channeling and a 512 or gig stick working non dual channel.
