I've been trying to get this bl**dy piece of crap to work for three days now.

Has anyone actually had ANY success with these motherboards?

Or have i wasted my time?

I cannot get it to post, fans come on,drives spin up,nothing else,no signal to the monitor.
Graphics card.5900lx-checked in another machine=works ok.
CPU-1 brand new sempron 2800,1 xp2000,xp2600barton-same with all 3 processors.
ram 512 ddr400 or 256ddr266,same with either=nothing, brand new stick of ddr2700=same as my own ram.
fsb set to 333 or 266=nothing with either settings.
CPU multiplier set as per ASROCK website manual,i have even set it lower to try to get it to work.

PSU=all voltages checked=checks ok with a multi meter.

Any more ideas?
I am stuck.

I have even tried it with all drives disconnected, just ram, cpu, graphics card.....Nothing.
I also tried a different graphics card,no difference.

tried it with just ram, cpu, vid card.
No post,all fans on,no screen.

Tried fsb266/266ddr and fsb333 /400ddr,12 and 12.5 multiplier on sempron2800(brand new).

Am i missing something?
This is not the first computer that i have built,2 before with no problems......

thought....
I know,it's my fault in hoping to get a motherboard that'll be upgraded to a 939/athlon64(when they get the upgrade card out), new technology rarely works.

That sounds exactly like what happens when you don't plug in the 4-prong CPU power plug from the power supply.

Abit IS7 - 3.0C @ 3.6ghz - Mushkin PC4000 (2 X 512) - Sapphire 9800Pro - TT 420 watt Pure Power
Samsung 120gb ATA-100 - Maxtor 40gb ATA - 100
Sony DRU-510A - Yellowtail Merlot

And of course,Asrock do not supply the adapters for your usual atx supply.
I've never had to use these before and don't have an adapter.

B****cks, this has been really pi**ing me off.

Are these usually on p4's?, i've never had to use one before(Nforce 2 ultra 400 and kt266a motherboards before and these never had them).

Thank you for pointing this out, i nearly wasted £400 on a p4 3.0ghz base unit from Pcworld today, luckily as i was checking the specs someone else brought it....fate you know. After this rocky start, me and this board are (if it works) gona get on fine, and look forward to that 939 expansion card after all.

Brand new sempron 2800 and an xp2000 soon to be on ebay.

Thanks again.

Your usual power supply has had the square 4-pin ATX12v header for the last 4 years, how old IS your power supply?

If you can't find the plug in your PS harness, like Crash said, give some serious thought to a new power supply. With that 5900 card you're gonna want around 300 watts. A real old PS without it would be 200 - 250 watt.
