I am about to buy everything to build my first computer.
Don't know much about it but I like the challenge.
I am a little confused about the choice of Motherboard for the CPU I am buying(there are so many of them with socket 754...I really don't know what to pick.

I am buying the Athlon 64 3000 and I want to know which motherboard is the perfect match. I am looking at ASUS but there are too many choices. Help...help...help...

Asus, soltek, and epox all make good boards with the nforce3 chipset for agp video cards. Epox is the least expensive. Nforce4 boards may start to appear by the end of the month, with pci-e video support.

Splendid
Nforce chipsets seem to work well. The Asus K8N is a good choice. If you need more sata connections, or plan on using multiple raid arrays, the K8N-E Deluxe is fine.
