Does anybody have any experiences to share with AMD's Cool-n-Quiet technology? I have been reading a bit and I'm getting mixed opinions from various sources. I'm trying to decide wether to install the drivers for this or not.

My system has an AMD 64 3700+ with an ASUS K8N-E mobo and I'm using a (huge)Zalman 7700-cu HSF (which has it's own manual fan controller, fanmate2). When I looked on the AMD website for supporting mobo's they didn't even list this mobo although according to my mobo info it says it does.

Am I better off using CnQ on this board or just using the manual fanmate2 controller that came with the Zalman HSF and adjust the fan to a tolerable noise level for the amount of coolness I'm getting?

Anyone have Experiences with this setup?

P.S. The Zalmn7700-cu is suppose to be incredibly quiet anyways.....

I prefer to just plug the fan into the CPU/fan socket and let it run at 2700rpm. Use the fan-mate for something else. Even at 2700 rpm I can't hear it.
