Hi all,
I bought one of these cheapo Paper Jam Kits (HP original) from someone
at eBay for my HP Laserjet 6L which havent been able to feed only one
paper in three years. At last, I thought, since many have reported
success with this operation, these are the ones that HP used to give
away for free.

I got today, and followed the instructions, but to my confusion the
brown rubber pad, didnt stick in the printer, it came up again. I
tried again, and now the rubber pad fell of this little plastic thing
its connected to.

Anyone has a clue on how I can solve this? Can I connect the rubber
pad and insert again somehow?

Please post or reply,
Svante

I have a Laserjet 5L which occasionally suffers from the same problem. I
don't know if the paper transport mechanism is the same as the 6L, but the
free HP kit for my printer comprised a piece of mildly abrasive cloth to
roughen the surface of the feed roller and an alcohol wipe. Using these
cures my feed problem, but it is difficult to clean the roller properly
without dismantling the printer.

I found a copy of the 5L Service Manual on the internet, this has clear
instructions on how to dismantle and service the printer. You might find the
same for the 6L.

Good luck,

Mike

The pad is about 5 years old and obviously the adhesive has lost its
solvent. There is no solution for this kit. However, this site has a
fix: http://fixyourownprinter.com/kkg0.html
