Hi everyone,

I'm planning on getting another GPU. I play mostly cod4 and some other fps games. I'd like to have a steady 125-250 fps in-game with all eyecandy on. Can you help me find a card that will support this? Also: If i step up to 1920x1080, would this card still support 125fps?

My specs now:
CPU: Q6600@ 3.1Ghz
RAM: Corsair 800Mhz 4G
MOBO: Asus Maximum II Formula
GPU: MSI HD4850 512mb

Gaming resolution atm: 1600x900 (planning on going 1920x1080 in the future)

Thanks

Well, the GTX 470 and 480 seem to hit those fps you want. Also, the 5870 isn't a bad choice either. The only thing is in 1920X1080, you won't get a steady 125 but more likely a steady 100. :sol:

There is a big difference playing @ 60fps and playing @ 125 fps. It 'feels' alot smoother. I have different configs for cod4 which enable me to go from 125 to 333fps (almost all eyecandy turned off) and there's a big difference between 125 and anything lower than 90.

i dont know why u want an fps like that i always limit my fps in any game

like cod 4 im gettin like 140-200 fps as i remember but i alwasy put a limit to that

because it heats up ur pc and the game become very fast

so u should think agin dude cuz u wont even think about gettin that fps in 2010 games or even some 2007 games

CoD is a very odd case; its one of the few games whos engine is coded in such a way that extra frames can actually affect gameplay (IE: Some jumps can be made that otherwise can not be made above 125 FPS).

Other then that, extra FPS is a placebo when playing on a 60Hz screen.
