Me again - I inherited more dinosaur bones

This time an HP e-Vectra. The chip set is Intel i810E rev. A3. It has a 256mb PC100 DIM.

Will this thing support a 512MB PC100 DIM? I can't find much info on HP's site and/or Intel's (or maybe I don't know where to look).

I'm not certain if it will work with a single 512MB DIMM, but why bother? It already HAS 1 256MB chip, it's LIMITED to 512MB total, so why not add another 256MB DIMM?

oh I guess I forgot: the e-Vectra is one of those tiny PCs. It only has one DIM slot.

Well - I didn't look extremely hard - but there appears to be only one I am about 80% it only has one.

Ah well, I have a solution, and it won't cost you a dime: Use Windows 98SE. It's stable and doesn't need a lot of RAM.
