I can get either the Asus or the Gigabyte SLI motherboards for $200. Are one of these boards better than the other? Or do they offer pretty much the same performance and overclockability? Thanks in advance.

There's a new magazine at the news stands
called "Gigahertz": the second edition
has a very good review of the latest
PCIe motherboards: ASUS got the award
for "best overall" (as I recall).

Overclocking is a factor in the
overall evaluations.

This magazine is beautifully laid out
with superb photographs.

Highly recommended!

Sincerely yours,

I have the Gigabyte and love it. Who really needs to overclock a 4000+ and sli twin 6800's?

I chose Gigabyte over Asus due to past history of both. Asus got the nick Asuck for a reason. Keep in mind all the manufactures have produced lemons at one time or another, but most failures are user related.
