Cant get my PS3 to work on Computer Screen.

These are the components of my computer
Power Supply: Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 650W
Graphics Card: HIS Radeon HD5770
Motherboard: ASUS P7P55D-E LX
Processor: Intel Core i5
Monitor: ASUS VW246 LCD Monitor.
Pretty sure Hard Drive, Wireless, externals, and accessories dont have any effect on this. If needed ill post.
My PS3 is the 250gb console.

This is really annoying me. I have been out bought an HDMI cable. I have set up, plugged every thing in but when i switch my screen to HDMI it just comes up black.

Can anyone help me??

PS3s can't be connected to your pc monitor(, XBox 360's can though). I guess that is what you are trying to archieve? Or are you trying to share your media (pictures, movies, music)? If so, you should connect the PS3 to your network.
