Let's say I have a web server at home and I want to host my web pages , so to have my server connected to the Internet what do I need to do ? do I have to buy an IP ? and from whome ? from a local ISP or from Internic or who else ?do I have to have a special line such as T1 ?

If you have a cable or DSL connection with a static IP, then you're pretty much set. Just set up apache or whatever program you are using to serve up, and build your site. You may want to register a domain name so that people can go to www.whatever.com instead of http://insert.your.ip.here/whatever.

You don't need a T1 unless you have a ton of people viewing your page and they are experiencing huge slowdowns.
