SCII Rig

Hello,

Do you think that this rig will run Starcraft II smoothly:

Athlon II X4 635 2.9GHz
4GB DDR3 1333MHz
GeForce GTS250 1GB

Currently sitting on a Phenom 9600 with DDR2 memory and the same GPU and I am not really happy with the game performance. So I read that It loves higher CPU speeds, so my budget can only afford this atm

Should be a big improvement, although I recommend you try and find a slightly better GPU than the 250.

The GPU will be improved pretty soon, I already have the GTS250. My goal was building a platform for the near future

Right, I misread slightly. Just a note of caution: Make sure your motherboard supports the Athlon X4.

Here is the mobo Asus M4A79XTD EVO\USB3. One more question, if I get an AMD-based-chipset motherboard with integrated graphics, that integrated card can somehow connect to mine card only if its a Radeon? (It sucks not paying attention to hardware stuff for long)

Some AMD boards support Hybrid Crossfire, meaning the onboard and discrete cards can work together. But yes, the card would have to be a Radeon.

Got a new question, found a nice deal on G.Skill DDR3 memory on Ebay but it's PC3-12800, and I read that Athlon II X4 is compatible with 10666. Does this mean that If I use 12800 it will work as 10666 or it wont work at all?
