Are these good results?

Here is my system:
Athlon 64 FX-53 (not overclocked... 2.4Ghz)
ATI X800 Pro (not overclocked except for built in "Overdrive" option)
1GB DDR400 RAM
32GB 10,000RPM SCSI HD
On-board Audio
Windows XP
-------------------------
My timedemo results were:
62.5 on High Quality, V-Sync off, No FSAA and 1024x768

55.7 with same settings as above but with 2x FSAA
-----------------------------

Are these normal for a system like mine? Are they low? Nothing is
overclocked.

I couldn't be sure, since I don't have the same hardware config, but since
this place seems slow lately... I might as well list my spec and framerate
for general comparison.

P4 3.0Ghz, 1MB, Hyperthreading, 800Mhz FSB
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB (2.5.90 Omega Drivers - they are faster in Doom3
by 12fps on my system)
1GB DDR400 Dual Channel RAM
Creative soundblaster 64? (some old model, don't even remember)
XP Pro
etc

I score 59.9fps in the timedemo. This is while Doom 3 is configured to High
Quality, 800x600 - everything on in the advanced tab except AA. (This is of
course unless the time demo changes the config to provide a universal test)

Tada, how fun...

oops...Ran again. Must have been a typo. Real score should have been
5490. Not the best on there but within 300-400 of comparable rigs with
the biggest difference being the oc'ing of the fsb for the cpu test.
Most of the higher scores are oc'ed to 236+/- on abit or max boards.

thx for catching that.

Also cleaned up the programs running in systray, defragged the ram and
ran the timedemo in d3 again.

16x12: 67fps
1024x768: 78fps

Guess I was just sloppy running my tests.

One of the benefits of having all that horsepower is you can be sloppy.
I am so in the habit of painstakingly shutting down programs and
background processes when preparing a gaming session, while my current
system enables me to be a bit more lax on that, I still do it.

Defragging your RAM, I've heard of that, but what I've heard is that it
really doesn't do much.

Question, how's Lucas doing? Has he got so successful that he could
loan you all the dough for those recent upgrades? :)
From his Bio at pgatour.com, it looks pretty good, you must be even
more proud.
