gf 6600 on p4 i.5

i have a p4 1.5 willamette/512mb 266 ddr ram/msi geforce 4200ti.

im going in for a geforce 6600(non gt). i want to play doom3 and hl2 at 1024*768 at high quality(no AA\AF). Do i need to toss out the mobo and processor as well? or will what i have now be enough?

I would throw that question out in the Graphics forum. I don't know for sure, but I think you might become CPU limited.

You can always get the 6600, try it with the P4 and if it isn't good enough upgrade the rest. Be aware that if you do the rest of the upgrade, then you will more than likely need to get a mobo, CPU, RAM and better PSU. You can get the s754 upgrade for $444 +S/H or the s939 upgrade for $450.
