Mass effect 2 not responding in the first loading screen

Hello,my mass effect 2 is not responding in the first loading screen...as soon as selest the genser for playin it gos to a loaing screen which looks like loading but i have go to task manager in order to close it...i have a core 2 duo 2.8 ghz...4 gb ram...ati radeon 4670...vista 32...and all the latest directx and drivers....please help

try lowering the resolution and turn off AA in case you have turned on...

runs fine for me on xp sp2, im using ati catalyst 10.6, its most likely a missing directx file or vista being vista.
