I just installed Aquanox... the first one. Almost after every loading screen the game goes back to my desktop. Ive gone past a certain crash point, by just trying it over and over again, and finally i got to the next part, but then it just crashed at the next loading screen again.
I have the game updated. I installed DirectX. My GFX drivers are up to date too.
Im running on WinXP, but I dont think thats the problem since the game does work on some parts.
Otherwise: Athlon 2000XP, MSI K7N2-G, 2x256 DDR 333, on board GF 4 MX...

See if there is a crash report in the game's root directory.
