In cleaning out my attic I found a mint condition Startac. The only
problem is the phone was on the SprintPCS network. Does anyone know
how I can go about unlocking it so I may use it with the verizon
network.

I really don't like anything out right now, and quite frankly they
just don't make phones like this anymore. I recently went to a VZW
store and checked out the v710. lots of features but looks very flimsy
and cheap. Plus I had heard the startac when it was out had more watts
of power than current models. any help would be great Thanks

Although both providers are on CDMA, they have different software
installed. Assuming it is the same phone as that used by Verizon, you
would likely need to have the Verizon software installed by a Verizon
service center. Even then, you may not be able to get the plan you want
depending on what model StarTac you have and what protocols it supports.
If you really want a Verizon StarTac, check eBay.

First, do you have the Master Subsidy Lock code for the phone? If you
do, you might get it to work voice only, no data, on verizon. But it is
quite likely that that phone is cdma only on 1900 MHz, and analogue only
on 800 MHz. Therefore it would not not be digital on most of verizon's
system, and for that reason verizon might not want to activate it.
