I have a P5GD2 Deluxe and im trying to install windows and it doesnt detect my Hard Drive. I have it in the Pri IDE and my 2 CD-Roms in the 1st Raid IDE. I cant get it to detect my CD-Roms in the BIOS. And if i put my Hard Drive on the 1st Raid IDE and the 2 cd-roms on the Pri IDE it will detect my cd-roms but not my Hard Drive. Any Ideas Why?
Thanks

Ive looked at the manual and it was set in IDE mode not RAID and ive tried different Mobo's thinking it might be defective and that was isnt it. It might be something in the BIOS but i couldnt find anything that didnt look right.

Yup checked that also and they are set up properly. It's wierd the Hard Drive and the Cd-Roms dont want to be detected with each other. It's either the Hard Drive is detected or the cd-roms are detected not both. arrg so frustrating. Great Technician i am lol.

Some RAID controllers don't work with anything but hard drives. Also, you can't run anything but hard drives in RAID mode, but most RAID controllers also allow non-RAID mode. Further, you need to turn on the RAID controller in BIOS to use it.
So the new Intel chipsets only have one IDE connector. ALL your optical drives should be on it. That means if you have 2 drives, both go on it, and if you have 3 optical drives, forget using one of them. You get 2 at the most.
You can put your hard drive on the RAID controller but you have to turn on the RAID controller in main BIOS. Main BIOS won't see the drive either, only RAID BIOS will. And you have to put the RAID controller in the boot order of the main BIOS.
And since new chipsets also support RAID, you'll have to NOT confuse the two RAID controllers.
