Crysis Warhead.....visual quality ? why not very high???

ok so, as of a few months ago i built my first system....alwways dabbled but never went ALL in lol....

anyways so, long story short, these are the specs for crysis warhead
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz (3.2 GHz for Vista), Intel Core 2.0 GHz (2.2 GHz for Vista), AMD Athlon 2800+ (3200+ for Vista) or better

RAM: 1GB (1.5GB on Windows Vista)

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (Radeon X800 Pro for Vista) or better

VRAM: 256MB of Graphics Memory

Storage: 15GB

Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible

OS: Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Microsoft Vista

DirectX: DX9.0c or DX10

now my specs are

CPU: amd ath @ 2.9 quad

RAM: 6gigs

Video Card: EVGA GTX 470

VRAM: 1gig of Graphics Memory

Storage: way more than enough lol

Sound Card: on board (mobo m4a785-m )

OS: win 7

DirectX: dx 10 / 11

So my simple ? is, why when i put on crysis and hit the button so that the game selects my visual specs automatically, it puts it on gamer (high) as oppose to enthusiast (very high, highest)

my ? is why, are my specs not way over these older specs?

More about crysis warhead visual quality high
  1. Most likely it won't recognise the card as it came out long after the game was made. Remember, newest card around when it was out was the 8800's. Also, it is only a game and only as intelligent as the people who made it.
  2. so if i manually put it at very high, will it perform as such or still studder and what not?
  3. try setting it higher and see if it stutters
  4. Max out everything. If it stutters lower the settings a little bit. Repeat until the stuttering stops or the frame rate is high enough for your liking. It's that simple.
