Hi guys - I need some help!

I had a problem with a power-off during BIOS flash and my mobo is (I guess) broken. The broken mobo is an MSI-7069, which doesn't show on their website. The PC manufacturer describes it here - http://support.packardbell.com/uk/mypc/index.php?PibItemNr=spec_callistogv&PibItemParent=043350220166#show

So, I found the nearest MSI mobo to the above spec - the 915GM-FR (MS-7033) and swapped the boards out. It was only a ten minute job and I expected it all to go fine. But it didn't!

Now when I power up, the CPU fan starts and the power and HDD LEDs light up. The HDD LED stays lit for 15secs or so and then goes out. Nothing else happens. No display, no nothing. It will power off again via the front panel switch and I have tried using a PCI graphics card instead of the onboard VGA and I have removed all connectors except the power switch. Taking the disk off (SATA) stops the HDD LED going on but the rest is the same.

I have since searched these forums for advice and have removed the new mobo, checked for spurious mounting posts (none), verified all connectors and tried again. Same thing - CPU fan on, HDD LED on for 15seconds then nothing.

What (if anything) can I try next?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Thanks for the quick response.

I've checked the jumper and it is set correctly. Also used it to clear the CMOS (with the power off as described in the mobo manual), then put it back to "normal". No change in the symptoms.

If you can think of anything else I can try, please let me know...
