Perhaps your attempt at controversy will allow your site to return to the realm of relevent? I haven't been a regular at your site for a while, but I would hope you could have done better than your 8/25 plea for attention.

With a successful web site and an MD behind your name you are an accomplished intellect with a healthy degree of willpower. I also admire your stance on 9/11. On the other hand the way you ended your blurb -- what amounts to five haughty pages of "me too" -- with the picture of you sitting beside a glamour shot smacks of narcissism.

You might want to blame this on your webmaster too, because chances are good that this article will cause you considerably more problems than it will cure.

I won't judge whether or not the article was a narcissist. It was what it was, meant to send a message.

The one thing I do agree with though, is that VansHardware is nothing but an incredibly flagrant display of a pro-AMD anti-Intel webpage. Just take a look at it right now. I think there were 2 out of about 50 articles that mentioned Intel, and all of them were in a bad light. All you see is AMD review this and AMD review that.

Anyway, this whole brew-ha-ha over something as seemingly trivial as computer harware makes me sick.

Just my 2 cents. Oh, and its good to see the forum again after so long. I haven't had much time what with school, sports, life, etc. Good to see ya'll!

Again another post in the OTHERS forum directed at Tom?
I don't get it...
Guys you NEED to contact Tom, not posting here. I would be surprised as hell if he ever read this and responded HERE. Last I heard he posted only twice in the Community ever since it began...

And now, an advice from your friendly Nike shoes slogan: JUST DO HER!

You're right re: computer hardware. As viscous as the community has become it appears there must be some money in having a good site. Trying to keep up with who's upset with who has almost become time-consuming.

Back to the thread topic, in my opinion Tom's sinking to the level of VHJ and HardOCP just makes him look like them. If you're in a sh*tflinging contest, be prepared for some to stick on you. What I read in a nutshell is the griping of a whore (who likes the money and the publicity) complaining about having to spend all day on her back.

If you don't like the business, which includes the fud, the flames, and the manipulation, in Tom's case especially -- go back to your day job. This is the nature of the beast. All his petulant tone did was make him sound like Van. In my opinion this little blurb with the surreal picture of Tom posing with Tom did little to forward the complaints Tom claims to have.

This little rant makes a supposedly mature physician sound like a teenager who just lost his prom date to a competitor.

One of the reasons I haven't spent more time at Tom's lately is I expect better from this site than it has lately been able to provide. This blurb seems to be symptomatic.

I found the editorial very interesting. I have no reason to contradict his viewpoint.
And I really liked the paper dixie cup with the cartoon duckling and umbrella.

It isn't just a plea for attention... it is giving us a viewing in the bad things that happen in Hardware reviewing-land.

But I didn't liked the two last pragraphs of the blurb too.
