Need Help with Keyboard Media Buttons

So I am running Windows 7 x64 and using an older HP USB Wired Internet Keyboard ( Model # SK-2565 ). I have a small rosewill 4 port usb hub, that I run my keyboard and mouse from. The keyboard functions all work fine, however none of the other buttons at the top work. The stupid sleep button works, the volume knob and the mute button do work. The Media controls and Internet buttons do not work. I downloaded a driver from HP and it made the internet buttons light up, but nothing more. There are no options in the device manager keyboard settings to change the buttons, there's no button tab. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  1. This thread:

indicates that drivers for this 7+ year old keyboard probably don't exist for Win7.

If you want media button function, you may have to spend a few bucks on a new keyboard.
  2. I was hoping that wasn't the case because my keyboard works great still and is in perfect condition. Weird too because I have an older hp ps/2 internet/media keyboard, and everything works as it should with it.... maybe I'll just get a ps/2 to usb adapter and swap keyboards, or shell out the $50 and head to newegg. thanks for your help
