Do DEMO's use less requierments then FULL version?

I have the Mafia 2 DEMO and i am running it at 1600x900 with no AA details on medium.
Will the full version run slower on the same settings because of the "world" difference?

More about demo requierments full version
  1. probably not, that would sort of defeat the purpose of getting the demo to see if your system can run it
  2. but in a bigger world there would be more things the cpu has to take care of.
  3. that game doesn't load the whole world at once
  4. In all honesty (and depending when the demo came out in relation to release date) I imagine it would run worse than the final version under similar hardware configs.

This is due to the fact of un-optimized coding. Of course it also depends on the developer and if it is a port or not.
  5. Demos are general built from a pre-release version of the actual game. Therefore, performance will tend to be worse in a demo compared to the actual game, in my opinion.

i've seen/played some demos that have been better then the retail version and some where the retail version was better then the demo version

IMO it's all hit or miss and you can't really tell until you play both
  8. It has already been mentioned in a couple of articles that the demo for mafia 2 is not a level from the game but one made just to showcase it, so there may be reason to think that it may run better than the game due to "cheats". Just my opinion though.
  9. Most if not all of the demo's I've played performed worse than the final version.
  10. I just got Mafia 2 today and its AMAZING. I think it runs a BIT smoother.
