Upgrading mobo for the first time

I have heard about changing the BIOS or something when switching motherboards, and I have 2x128 sticks will those conflict with a 512 stick?
I'm upgrading from:
1.200 GHz Duron processor
2x128 ram
Integrated Video and Audio
48x CD-Rom
20 GB HD
230 watt power supply
Upgrading to:

AMD Athlon 64 2800+, 512KB L2 Cache, 64-bit Processor 1.8 GHz

What are those two sticks of 128MB ?? DDR - PC3200 or SDRAM PC133 (or PC100) from your old system.

If the latter, forget it. They won't even fit into the slots on the new motherboard and if you try and force them you will end up breaking things.

You've got the BIOS thing kind of confused. The BIOS is on the motherboard. You MIGHT want to upgrade it. More probably you heard something about reseting the CMOS. This is sometimes necessary for the motherboard to recognize the processor properly (or even post).
