Flash Bios to make setup recognize sata drives for

Does a Flash bios need to be done?.....for Windows XP Pro to recognize western digital hd?

Please list your system specs, what you were trying to do and what you have done so far t fix the problem. We can't help without the right info...My initial thought is that you shouldn't have to do a BIOS flash to get the system to recognize a HDD...

I had the same problem, Windows XP wouldn't install cause it couldn't find the WD Raptor SATA drive at all. I tried installing the drivers, etc. and nothing worked. Finally, I used my friends version of Windows XP SP1 and it installed perfectly.
