I am assuming the NF7-M with the onboard graphics can handle a mobile Barton cpu... just wanted to check before I ordered him one... and don't worry, i got rid of his onboard graphics a long time ago...

If he already has the board, try putting your CPU into it and see if you can adjust multipliers.

Good idea, but he is a three hour drive away and he is sending me a check to order him some ram, a new cpu, and a heatsink. Yes, he does already have the board. When I head over there, I need to have the parts with me. I have searched the net a little bit, but have found no conclusive info on whether or not it will work... I do not remember the particulars on what a motherboard needs to make a mobile work...

A motherboard needs to support Bartons to operate with a Mobile Barton. It also needs to support multiplier settings in order to support a mobile Barton at full speed, else it will default to the lowest available multiple.

Thanks, it should work... and if it does not, I will bring the cpu home with me... I have two friends in town that have a standard Barton 2500 that would be MORE than willing to make a trade... but I do not think it will come to that...
