They'll fit in any socket A motherboard. Since they are mobile processors just make sure the motherboard has features in the BIOS which allow for setting/adjusting the CPU multiplier, voltage (vcore) and FSB.

Most motherboards don't properly recognize the mobile CPU (as they are intended for laptops, not desktops).

The NF7-S v.2 (not the simialrly named NF7-S2) is good, so is the AN35n-Utra. I believe the Asus you mentioned is prolly good (it doesn't offer Dual-Channel, but that's no biggie). Just double check it has the multiplier adjustment.

Mobile XP 2600+ (11X215)
Abit NF7-S v 2.0
Maxtor 60GB ATA 133 7200RPM
1 gig Corsair XMS PC3200
eVGA 6800GT
Enermax Noisetaker 420 watts
Win2K sp4

I don't believe that Athlon MP(multi-processor) = Athlon XP-M(mobile). I may be wrong on this one. I'm not sure what, if any, differences there are between the CPUs or whether the MPs are compatible with regular skt A mobos.

If I remember correctly, and Athlon MP is simply an XP with the multi-processor bridge(s) shorted. (i.e., with a normal XP you can make it an MP with a pencil mod similar to the mobile mod). It's probably specially binned, but I don't know the capability differences (as in mobiles can run at lower voltage).

Yes.

You need a motherboard based on the AMD 760 MPX chipset. The best one I know of is the <A HREF="http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/server/svr/pro_svr_detail.php?UID=73" target="_new">MSI K7D Master</A> which you can get for $198 from <A HREF="http://www.logiccircle.com/xcart/customer/product.php?productid=16607&cat=0&page=1" target="_new">Logic Circle Systems</A>. They claim to have 3 in stock. Alternatively you can use the Tyan Tiger MPX, more stable but less potential for overclocking. You can get a refurbished one from Newegg for <A HREF="http://www2.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?Submit=Go&DEPA=0&type=&description=tiger+mpx&Category=0&minPrice=&maxPrice=&Go.x=0&Go.y=0" target="_new">$159</A> or a new one from buy.com for <A HREF="http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10321053&SearchEngine=PriceWatch&SearchTerm=10321053&Type=PE&Category=Comp&dcaid=1688" target="_new">$213</A>.

Personally I only have experience with the K7D Master. The guys over at 2cpu.com loved this board and I have it running 2 2400+ MPs at 2800+. It runs 24/7 stable for months at a time.

Which ever you choose, you'll definitely have a sweet setup.
