*BC2* Chat dropdown splits screen in two..

Ok so I already posted a thread about this annoying/distracting "pop up" but it seems like me and a few other are the only ones experiencing this issue, if you look closely you will see where the screen changes color whenever the chat dropdown box appears. My question is, can this be disabled or is there any fix/updates that will remove this issue? Examples :

Here you cannot see anything..

Now look at the left hand side of the screen and you will notice a "box" in a slightly different color...

The problem I have is not really the screen changing color but the flickering of that chat box every time someone dies or posts a message. Can this be disabled?

I'm the only one having this issue? Anyone else here play BC2? I'm sure im not the only one as I have installed the game on 3 different PC's and all 3 have the same exact outcome..

It's a known bug that EA hasn't gotten around to fixing yet. Most people have this issue. You can temporarily make the chat box go away by pressing the ~ key, but there's not a permanent fix for this yet.

I just wanted to confirm that this was a known issue, the flickering is driving me crazy especially when you are sniping and the box appears right at that moment. I tried pressing the ~ button but that box appears more than 500 times each round so there is no point.

Hopefully we can get a patch soon that fixes this issue, it shouldn't be that hard to fix
