Hello, I have Battlefield Bad Company 2 and every once in a while the game closes. no error message, nothing. Most of the time it happens right when I'm joining a match, but sometimes, it occurs near the end of a game, causing me to lose all my progress. It's never consistent, and sometimes I play for hours w/o a single problem... any ideas?

More about : bfbc2 closes

okay. I just had to reboot... but now I've got a new problem... my fps goes from it's normal 60 to around 53 in 1/2 a second. This causes a hitch in gameplay. If it were at 55 it'd jump to 48-45 and then creep back to 55 in the next few seconds. I'm not in graphically intensive areas that are causing this either.

cpu has aftermarket cooler even at 3.8ghz it never gets above 43 w/ max load in prime 95. And I haven't seen my 5850 get above 55 (it's the directcu that's why)

Any other DX11 titles working ok? uniengine? What happens if you run it without the OC? BFBC2 does try and use everything it can get its hands on. Is that 43 load with 4x prime 95? running or just one?

43c load w/ 4x prime 95. and i'll try dirt 2. That's dx11 right? I have metro 2033 and that is fine except for the fact is scares the crap outta me :D

My thoughts were this; cpu not ok on full four core load (BFBC2 loves quads) - probably disproved, but would still like to see if the same thing happens with a lower/no OC. GPU damaged in some way that only shows up on DX11 codepath - hence the DX11 test. Otherwise i'm out of ideas.

Except this one, does windows say anything about the crashes in the event log?

no. windows shows nothing in event log... as a matter of fact, it doesn't even show as a crash, it just closes.

I'll try lowering clock speeds... I tried w/o vsync and the hitching wasn't there so I do think its cpu

This hapens to me, it is getting annoying, and EA doesn't care.... ALso this game is 32 bit so it "does love quads"
