PS3 & Headphones

So I want to use my computer monitor for my PS3, because its 1080p and my TV is only 720p. My problem is I want to use my headphones but my monitor does not have a headphone jack nor speakers. I know stupid question but can I use my motherboards digital optical out and get sound from my computer? Basically how would I get sound from my PS3 to my headphones???

Blue tooth headphones MIGHT work but don't take my word on that.
