Games won't play in 1080p

Hello all,
I recently bought the Asus ms236 monitor, which is 1080p, but none of my games will go to that resolution, they will only go up to 1600 by 900. I have the latest drivers for my card, but other than that, I have no idea what is wrong.
Help is appreciated.

Does your desktop run at 1920 x 1080 normally?

Does Windows detect the monitor correctly as the ASUS? Try seeing if there are monitor profile files you can install for the monitor.

Check with the game support sites, see if what you are trying to play can even run at that resolution. I have plenty of games that don't go past 1024x768.

go to you monitor and right click and go to propeties there you change it to 1920 and 1080, then you play. if that doesnt work manually go into the game files and changes the setting.ini to 1980 x 1080. taht is about it.

Ok, most of my games play in 1080 so I may have to live with the ones that don't.

Ok, most of my games play in 1080 so I may have to live with the ones that don't.

So we went from "none of my games work" to "most of my games work".

Like I said, not all games will support every resolution, expecially older ones.

Older games, even as far as 2005, sometimes don't support full HD. You can usually override this though, by editing the programs startup options/ini/registry values.
