The difference in price between a regular nForce 4 Ultra board and the SLI version seems to be anywhere from $10 - $50. Besides the extra PCI-Express x16 slot for SLI cards, does the SLI version contain any additional features not present on the nForce 4 Ultra board?
I ask because I am not sold on SLI (I'd rather upgrade to a newer generation single card than buy a second card for SLI), and also I would prefer an extra regular PCI slot or two. However, if SLI boards have more and better features, I might reconsider.
IMO nforce 4 ultra is better. And you're right about getting a newer generation single card than 2 cheaper ones.
Also what if the video card you want is an ATI? SLI won't work anyways.
The only way I would get a SLI mobo is if I was gonna buy the 2 best nvidia cards available right now, because If I buy just one today and the other in 6 months, maybe there's gonna be a better one card alternative then, than my 2 older cards.
Maybe you can search the boards for SLI and read some of the interesting threads about this topic.
